Georgetown, Texas is located just north of the capital city of Austin. The San Gabriel River runs through Georgetown and provides miles of hiking and biking trails. Recent growth has brought many new businesses and shopping areas to Georgetown. Many exciting places can be found nearby including Inner Space Caverns.
In addition to being well known as having one of the best preserved and active historic downtowns in Texas, Georgetown is considered to be one of the best places to retire in the nation due to its fairly warm climate, close proximity to both the Texas Hill Country and Austin. Sun City Texas, an adult living community, is located in Georgetown.
